Curriculum & Instruction

Curriculum & Instruction Vision:Research-based Curriculum and instruction: Catalyst for student achievement
Mission: The Division of Curriculum and Instruction provides rigorous, relevant curriculum and supports implementation of best instructional practices to sustain high student achievement based on data
Goal: To refine and improve the work processes, information flow and communication of members within our division so the collective efforts are organized, efficient, and effective in helping raise student achievement

Standards-Based Instruction

InterVisual Technology focuses on student mastery of the States Standards for each subject area. These standards are used to measure minimum competency. To add rigor and relevance to each course, the InterVisual Technology uses the Understanding by Design lesson and unit planning format. As more of the InterVisual Technology curriculum becomes available online, InterVisual Technology patrons will be able to see examples of remediation strategies and extended learning opportunities for students in each course, subject, or grade level.

Alignments

An instructional expert reviews each standard to ensure our activities have the tightest possible alignment. InterVisual Technology can even align and embed your district pacing guide directly into the software management system.

New national assessments will be operational in the 2014 – 2015 school year, in which schools must demonstrate success using the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).
